Exposure: Week Eight

A picture of your most treasured item.

I used to ask myself the question, "If the house caught on fire, is there anything you would risk time to save from the flames? If so, what would that be?"

Then I had six children. No more questions. Things are things, however dear.

So . . . most treasured item? Good grief, even my fire question is not helping me with this one anymore. Honestly, there are none that rise to the top, though there are many, many things that could be considered "treasures" of mine. That which makes any item personally special is always the same: Who held it? owned it? gave it to me? There is not one thing I treasure that has significance apart from someone dear to me.

In lieu of a litany of treasures, I have selected one item to feature here. Perhaps it is "most" treasured for what it contains and represents, and not as an item itself. If a fire broke out in my home, I trust this could not be consumed.
Inside this little book, my husband and I wrote our marriage vows.
We read from it during our wedding ceremony.

". . . I give you this ring as an enduring reminder of our covenant before God and of my love for you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."

  1. yeah, that's cool :-)

You both are so close to my heart, and it's an absolute honor and privilege to know you. Your vows are a treasure and a witness, indeed.
